What Electrical Work Typically Costs

Ranges last reviewed: October 2026

We'd rather you know the ballpark before you call. These are typical prices for work we do in El Campo and the surrounding counties, built from our current pricing and industry-standard labor hours. Every home is different, so your exact price comes in a written proposal. For service-call rates, hourly labor, the consultation fee, and travel charges, see our Rate Sheet.

How to read this page: prices are per item, à la carte. Most jobs combine a few items. For example, a 200A service upgrade is a meter loop, a 200A panel, a breaker for each circuit, ground rods, and surge protection.

Good to know

  1. Any service call or other separate job whose labor and materials total less than our service call minimum is billed at that minimum. Travel charges apply separately, based on drive time from El Campo. This minimum doesn't apply to change orders on a project already under way, and a price in a signed proposal controls for that proposal. See our Rate Sheet.
  2. Permit fees are passed through at cost.
  3. Prices are before any sales tax that applies.
  4. Prices assume your existing wiring is in good condition. Code-required work we find on site is added to your proposal. Troubleshooting isn't included.
  5. Panels, services, generators, EV chargers, and hot tubs need a load calculation first.
  6. Prices on our website are general information, not an offer.

Why quotes differ between electricians

A lower quote sometimes leaves out permits, uses unlicensed labor, prices lower-grade equipment, or skips work the job will need anyway. Ours list what's included, who does each part, and which permits we pull, so you can compare line by line.
